HOW to Market Yourself to Pro Football Teams

Please don't wait on finding an agent before you start promoting yourself.  In fact, if you're waiting on finding an agent, please stop right now and focus on doing your marketing yourself.  You're wasting time.

If you're hellbent on finding an agent, do it in your spare time, but spend the bulk of your time marketing yourself…  That is, of course, unless you're draftable (as in, NFL Draft), and already have an agent.  If you're draftable, this doesn't apply to you… yet.

Moving on…

By now, you may have seen my posts with the contact information and emails to CFL, UFL, IFL, and (as of today) Arena teams.  But what the heck are you supposed to send them?

Great question.

Start out by just emailing them a one page bio of yourself.  At, I provide a sample bio that you can download and modify with your own information.

After you've put yours together, just email it to every team, in every league you want to communicate with.  There's a little more to it, but let's start there.  I don't wanna overwhelm you.  Good luck, and feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Besides, I cover this and a lot more in "Moving the Chains: The Undrafted Football Player's Guide to Tackling a Pro Football Career", which will be available soon, from and!
