I just got done reading Pro Football Talk's article about Hall of Famer Forrest Gregg having Parkinson's disease, and how he thinks it's linked to the concussions he suffered playing football.
It got me to thinking.
See, I never played in the NFL, but I can't help but wonder sometimes about the short and long-term effects the two concussions I suffered in college (that I remember) will have on my life.
For example, I have a bit of a temper now that I don't remember having before I played college football. I also have a tendency to forget things.
Not to mention my tendency to forget things. *smile*
On top of that, sometimes I wonder if I'm doing the right thing helping players establish pro football careers, knowing the damage they're putting on their bodies playing this brutal game that I love. And to be honest, I'm not sure if the money they will make is worth the damage they'll put on their bodies in their careers.
It's an internal battle that I deal with sometimes. I just feel guilty sometimes, but maybe I shouldn't, because it's their choice to play pro football, right?
OK, enough rambling. Off to bed I go. Peace.
