My Open Letter to Mike Brown (Owner of the Bengals)

Dear Mr. Brown,

For the life of me I can't understand why you won't trade Carson Palmer.  Granted, you've been an NFL owner for 20 years, so maybe you know what you're doing.  Then again, the team's only had two winning seasons over that time span, so maybe I'm wrong about that.

Why would you rather get nothing, when you could've traded him and get something for him?  I understand that he signed the contract and he should honor it.  I get it.  But c'mon man.  There's no loyalty to the players, so why do you expect so much loyalty from a player?  Any player can get cut at any time in the NFL. Granted he signed the contract understanding that he could've been cut at anytime (not like he had a choice), but still.

And you mean to tell me you would've let him lead your football team this season even though he obviously didn't want to be there?  I just don't get it.  I know you did the same thing to Chad Ochocinco a few years back, so we shouldn't be surprised, but still.

He's going to end up getting traded next year anyways.

All the best (or worst), Mr. Brown.  Gotta go, gotta go.

Check out for pro football insider information.  Ever watched ESPN talk about a player's deal and ask yourself, "What is a roster bonus?"

No?  Well you still might like our latest post, entitled, well, What Is a Roster Bonus.
